George Kariuki
AI Systems Architect & CEO
George has always been passionate about emerging technology and its potential to transform how businesses operate. He started his career implementing AI and automation systems for global firms and clients across the United States and Europe.
During this work, he noticed a critical gap. The AI solutions being built by global vendors were designed for Western markets. When African businesses tried to adopt them, they faced constant friction: solutions didn't understand how local businesses were structured, didn't integrate with existing systems, and were prohibitively expensive for the African market.
Workflows had to be reengineered to fit the software, rather than the software adapting to the business. Implementation costs often exceeded what small and medium enterprises could justify, creating a barrier to AI adoption despite clear potential for operational improvement.
George realized African businesses deserved better. Together with long-term colleagues from software development, cybersecurity, and machine learning, he founded Promptly AI Africa with a clear mission: make AI automation accessible, affordable, and effective for businesses across Kenya and the continent.
